What doctors stand for

General

Hi guys, this is something has been on my mind for ages now. A friend who suffered an accident a few years back is still going through hell just because the doctors who treated her weren’t awake enough to realize that she needed a totally different diagnosis than what they suggested. That one thing they “thought” was the reason for that friend not being ok was the total opposite.

What does one do in these situations? When your loved ones are in the mercy of people you trust after God. People who are in a profession that even one mistake can ruin someone’s life and totally destroy all dreams of some people. Why do they do that? Is a patient sometime just a number for them?

I do know some doctors who have managed to do great work with their patients who go beyond all boundries just so they can save a patient, while others can totally do the opposite with their careless work.

Are those doctors even thinking of the families they are messing up with when one person is no more because of their carelessness? Or are they just thinking, naa it’s ok maybe we can try the other medicine on the other patient because this one didn’t make it.

Someone very close to me is not well, and the docs are pushing dates forward more and more as the time gets worse for the dear one. I mean what are they waiting for? They say we have emergency cases that take the place of your dear one. Well in a city as tiny as Oslo how many emergency cases are we talking about that go even higher than a patient’s case that’s in a very serious state.

To tell you the truth, I think some doctors should really learn something other than just sitting and ripping the government for money writing extra hours. While some very good doctors do deserve to get recognition other’s need a kick out of this profession.

Enough said..

This one was needed Wakas, Thanx hmm :) And believe me when I say that I know what you talking abt as I myself been thru this… I cant talk abt other places but yes In Norway some Doctors arent really doing their duty as it deserves to be done hmmm which is obviously very sad and very dangerous as well….

Being a Dr is neither a joke nor its just a profession for fun, its a matter of Life and death, No doubt that its All in Allah’s hand and its him who decide everything, but one mistake done by Dr’s can make or ruin someones life totally and I have been a victm myself so yes I know what im saying…

No doubt some Dr’s are really doing their level best and really really are God sent angels, so we cant actually say that every1 are like only after making Money and give damn in human life, but yes its very unfortunate that even “some” can be so careless…. There are not and shudnt even be any room for that hmmm…. as its abt real Lives and when every sec counts I think Dr’s definitely will InshAllah survive if they dont take a Coffeee break!!!

Allah give Hidayat to all, Ameen!

    Hey,

I definately understand where you are coming from. My dad was sick for three weeks and the doctor did not perscribe him anti-biotics. The fourth week he was in the hospital. He had to stay for two weeks with pnemonia. To tell you the truth, I was very angry that this happend.

I realize now that, as much as a doctor has to care about a patient, they have to worry about them selves first. One wrong move and the doctor can have his whole life taken from him. And you know as well as I do, you can never go on a straight and perfect record without mistakes throughout life. So this dear one that is wrongfully treated, then think of all the other people that will be saved.

There is no money in being a doctor so you have to remember, doctors these days are not in it for the money. They are there because they love the profession.

    Love your station,
    Priyank

Good topic too, i understand at 101% ur & ur Dear Ones feelings Wakas bhai…

As Priyank said the doctors have to think about themself first…. sorry Priyank iam totally against coz if they decide to become doctor they have to be responsible for the risk of the job & also giving the proper treatment….it easy to play with patients life just coz they wouldnt lost them notoriety of being a doctor….ys coz when U say to someone U are doctor so people congrats U that good job etc… but no life isnt a game & especially patients who trust on doctors & w8ing a miracle from them…

And about norwegians doctors i have my own opinion…i didnt live there but i know them & when i compare norwegian to french doctors i think they arent good doctors….coz i am also a special patient but they always trying….& being there for me from 12 years now but never careless….

I just wanna give U a personnal advice why Ur dear one dont change doctors means go out from norway…try an other european country…sometimes we can find better out…like UK, Germany & France are good.

hmm a very serious n needed topic :) You are so right in so many ways.. there is always 2 sides to a coin.. One profession bein a doctor and then there r doctors who rip your life out totalli makin u nothin but a ginniepig.. then there r others who will go an extra mile to make sure things are all okie for their patients…

I have been a victim myself and I hate the fact that i am shtill the one.. but as i am told. i am in d hands of best doctors :) yea right!!! is wat i have to say… i wud rather have a doctor givin me the correct info than backin out of the statements they give…

I am from a small town myself n runnin to bigger places for gettin cured is not a easy task.. coz u bein a patient mite not realize that , but people who have to do the job of runnin arnd know how difficult that task is… WE have a hospital here, who do nothin but give a wrng treatment to patients.. I cant believe one of my frnd said, when she was in the Emergency at nite 3 am, she wasnt attended by ne doctors so she called 911.. I mean hello? u r in ER already n u callin 911? Does it make ne sense? but she said too coz doctors were busy rippin somebody else off and she wasnt that important a case to them.. where as she was in such bad case that now she is on live long medications…

So many times i have hrd this recent past few days that wrng diagnosis was done n now they r first treatin the patient on wrng diagnosis n then will attend the actual problem.. Where are we headin.. true, there r others, who realli do make wonders as well.. But being a doctor is one profession i feel, where in u dun get chances to make mistakes n those mistakes r not pardonable because it is a matter of we handin ourselves in the hands of those doctors whom we trust completely…

I am sorry to hear that ur dear one is facing such problem and you have to delay on treatment.. I wish doctors can understand n feel the need of ur dear one and treat it accordingly…. God Bless :)

Very well said Wakas, Doctors they say are asked to take an oath of trying to save lives when they start thier practice. But these days Medicine looks more like a lucrative business to them. What better than to make a fast buck when someone is desperate to get over the pain or save a loved ones life.

From what I have seen here in India we have the concept of Medical tourism where we have a lot of patients flying in from all over the world for treatment here for its faster, better & cheaper. Well I guess from what you have expressed I see why we have many foriegners are seeking help here.

Hmmm… I remember once I blasted on a syrian doctor when he was delaying to see my younger bro and he was suffering from pain. At the next moment the doctor was on track. Sometimes we should make them realize their obligations, isnt it?

True bro.. my mum is in hospital and I had to push it like crazy to get things done that were to be done in days but they took weeks.. its sad that some docs don’t realize it until you just go beyond the line, which obviously shouldn’t be needed at all.
