I was sitting and wondering something last night. We are all walking around doing our things day in and day out. Everyday the same routine, work home sleep, work home sleep… and so on. Yes ofcourse it’s important to do something in order to live a proper life. But what is a proper life? hmm
Is it a proper life to work ourselves to death. I mean yes, it’s important to get some money every month in our bank account but is that what life is all about? We do so much and get so little.. and no it’s not about money that I am talking about.
I am talking about the pleasures of what God has given us.. how many times like little kids do we take out time to stop next to a beautiful flower and see its beauty? How many times do we sit under the tree and run our hands through the grass to see the beauty of the nature? How many times have we stood under the rain, and reached our hand out to let the raindrops fall nonstop…?
But yes we would do anything else but those things that give us a sense of being alive.. a sense of feeling what nature has gifted us with, something so pure and absolutely at no cost. How many times do we just breeze past nature’s gifts, how many times do we just close our eyes to the beautiful miracles it presents to us?
How many times have you since the past week taken out time to cherish the beauty of nature?
So are we really living our life or is it living us?

Awwww this is one topic i really love because we are so caught up in the rat race that we forget to stop & smell the roses till we realize that it is too late & time has just flown past us :)
I would say while you do need to be hardworking to meet your goals & to have a comfortable life, there should be a balance in the other part of your life.Like work hard n play hard as well.Devoting some time to just being one with the beauty & nature around, maybe take weekends off to just smell the roses or enjoy the breeze against the face or the spray of water against you :) Nothing in excess is good so too much of getting caught up in daily issues or too much of being laid back is no good.

Nice topic and very true. We all r so busy in our materialistic world, that we tend to forget the nature that has created so many beauties arnd us…
Yea, may b at this age, since we r busy earnin, we tend to forget to sit under a tree or smell flowers.. I guess, most of us do it coz our kids can have all that fun n we can watch them do it may b…if our future gen can live peacefully without ne worries which is why some of us run in our busy lives..
But yea, too much of nethin ish too bad… we need to balance things in our life..Take some time out of ur hectic schedule n just enjoi the nature… listenin to birds chirpin..takin a stroll arnd ur house n enjoiin the nature…it brings lots n lots of joy in ur life.. I personally do it a lot so can guarantee that it clears ur mind in lots of ways as well :)
God Bless :)

Bravo Wakas!
I beg to add:
Leisure
a poem by:
William Henry Davies
What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
This is a poem we were taught in High School, and it stands true even today!
You are so right!
We are so caught up in living the rat-race of life, that we just take for granted all the beauty that Mother Nature has bestowed us with: free of charge!
But yet, we go in search of beauty, disregarding what is right outside our house or in that park just around the block!
Fortunate are the ones who get to enjoy the clean country-side air, and yet not only do we not, or cannot be bothered by simplifying our lives, but we blame pollution for all our problems of ill health, which we created ourselves, in the first place !!
It is true, oftentimes, we only stop to ponder about all the wonderful bounties of nature when it is too late to do anything about it. A lot of times, even when we go on holidays most of us choose a place which is full of the hustle and bustle of the city that we just left behind! For those fortunate few who do go in search of the sea and the sand and the wilderness, they still prefer to come back to the woes of the city!
Many think that it is a crime to relax and its only for those who are old and retired, yet when we see the smiles and hear the giggles of the grandchildren who are lucky to have grandparents who live in the country, and they come back with rosy cheeks, we do breathe a sigh and wish we could enjoy the countryside too! Wait! But who is stopping us? Ourselves and our great need to make money in order to enjoy all the comforts of the modern world! Nobody else! So we are ourselves to blame, if,
full of care,
we have no time to stand and stare,
at the beauty that Mother Nature bestowed on us, without asking for it!
If only we actually go and stand at the sea shore or sit in the woods, we would be able to feel and listen to those waves and chirping of birds, Rather Than have to buy CD’s and audio cassettes to listen to those sounds!
We know that walking barefoot in the lush green grass is gud for our health, and most of us have a garden, a park nearby or some place where we could do it,, but where’s the time? We would rather just ignore it all and wear the glasses (which sometimes turn into binoculars as we age!)
So, to end my comment, I would say that we are really letting our life rule us!
Please, my brothers and sisters, all ye who read this, please take some time to ponder over this wonderful topic and Take Some Action to enjoy life to the fullest!

Very well and beautifully said Wakas :) I think this one really touched the heart and soul, and makes one really think are we just going thru Life or are we growing thru Life, and as you said is Life living us or is it vice versa hmmmm… :)
Life is a precious gift and we need to feel every moment and only that way we can feel the Life! In this race of Life, being in love with materialistic things is really unfair to Love as well as to Life! Unfortunately thats what happens these days……….
Thanx for this one and Allah keep u blessed :)
