General

Every day I go to a lake near our place to feed the ducks and birds etc. And no I didn’t say to “feed on” the ducks or birds, I take two loafs of bread with me which I make into small pieces and then scatter them onto the lake or near some tree trunks.

While I was “showering” the ducks with the bread I was thinking about something that i am sure most of you have already thought of from before. That God works in mysterious ways, and how he does what he has promised. Which is providing his creations with food no matter where they are.

Standing there and putting some bread pieces next a tree trunk I was thinking, that although I am putting the bread for the ducks and birds around this area, there might be thousands of small insects that might be feeding on the bread too which is left on some sides. Surely there must be some pieces of bread which I threw near the trunk which got stuck between two stones or some other plant root where a few hundred insects or reptiles might be appearing later on to eat.

I never thought of such a thought that since I have the bread in my hand, it’s me who is feeding them. I just smile and throw the bread pieces thanking God to give me atleast enough to buy food for creatures that he otherwise even without my “help” would manage to feed without a problem. Today while I was near the lake I had a very strange thought. I was thinking of helping the insects hehe yah I know wierd but yah I was thinking if I can locate where the insects have their “homes” like you know those big holes or tiny holes that stick out in the ground.. I could place a peace of bread there everyday near the entrance of their “door” so when they get out at night they would be greeted with a big yummy bread ka piece.

Aww imagine if there were giants like that for us humans that put food for us right outside our door everyday. But heyy… wait a minute!!! Isn’t that why he gave us two arms, two legs, and a brain to think and use to EARN and get what we think we should deserve for free?

Oh yes :) He is providing everything we want and all we need is to open our eyes up and see for ourselves.. that it’s not he who needs us, it’s us who need him…

Hate to dampen the good intent, but any bread not actually consumed by the ducks will settle on the bottom and collect bacteria. The bacteria then pollutes the water and makes the ducks and other species sick. If humans play in or around the water, they too can become ill.

If everyone was to bring one or two loafs of bread each day, it might be a case that there is more harm being done than realized.

    Something to think about.

@ tony .. exactly.. good point. But I only put enough which is eaten by them rest is thrown next to the tree trunks. But yes to all those reading do make sure you don’t throw a whole loaf of bread next to just one duck, if you can see they can manage it just do bit by bit rest you can just scatter on the ground.
