The best setup is to have your own apartment or home, so you are guaranteed your own privacy, while living close by to your parents. And older Pakistani and Indian parents have to stop treating their adult sons and daughters like toddlers. They have to allow them decision making power and freedom. If they don't, what often ends up happening is grown children moving away from them using their jobs as an excuse from getting way from their parents' suffocating, unjust grip. Islam teaches that while we must respect and care for parents, parents DO NOT have a free pass to abuse daughter-in-laws, or to deny their children a certain level of freedom to make choices in their lives. If it was for the purpose of putting you in a routine than its probably for your own best. At a young age we never realize who is thinking for our best and who isn't, and that it would be very uncool according to our friends if we do what our teacher says.
