My Internet journey started from Pakistan, when I asked the ISP if they had a guide on creating websites and they said no we don’t. I spent whole night making it although I didn’t know anything about sites then. And in the morning presented them the guide that was called “poora pagals guide to making websites” And boy oh boy.. the guide was downloaded thousands and thousands of times by almost everyone who logged onto the ISP and that was a LOT of people. That’s how my internet journey began!

Below are few of the sites I have launched:-

• WorldsMine (1999 till 2005)
  A search engine that I launched with the pay per click cgi script. Luckily got hold of a chinese portal webmaster who I shared the 50% clicks and earned 200-300 USD every 24 hours. This site I let go when I moved back to Norway from UK
• Thebabesandhunks (2000 to 2006)
  This was a celebrity site that was VERY popular! I got an offer for this from indiafm who paid for hosting, then their plans changed and I had to move to my own domain right away. This was an amazingly fun project. And I hired some great programmers do code the site but design and implementation was something I took care of.
• FreelancersDirect.com (2000 till 2004)
  This was a freelance marketplace where programmers and webmasters met. I had over 1500 members, from which 250 were paying while the rest paid commission on projects. Site went amazingly well until some personal issues came up and I had to return back to the family in Norway. So no time to manage the site, I just shut it down.
• PooraPagal.com (2001 till 2006)
  This was probably one of the cutest chatrooms on the net. I got hold of the creators of penguin chat and used their chat on poorapagal site. It was packed up with over 200 “penguins” every moment you would login. After a while, Disney bought penguin chat and the authors kindly asked me to remove the chat so they can sell all their rights. I will set something else up there soon.
• CrazeFM.com (2004 till 2010)
  This is the site I have been running since 2004 almost. Started with another like minded friend and since then till now poured every single penny I had on the site. This site is still eating lots of my cash, but in return millions of users have a radio they can come to when they are bored. Apart from that, I am also the host of the show on the radio. This site also won the Best and most Popular site of 2007 in the Asian Radio / TV category.

Apart from the above, I had launched over 35 different sites. I remember them all, and most of the readers of this page also remember them if I mention them. But that’s a long story I will add above a few more as I remember the big ones that really made an impact in how I look at web and venturing new ideas. My way of doing sites is looking at what works, and making it work even better. In a way someone else might never have thought of.

What have I sold?

• AmIalookalike.com (2001 till 2009)
  This is a site I sold to an interested buyer in 2009. It was a very fun site. Concept was totally new as at the time of making no site had this idea. I had a programmer create a rating script that would allow users to submit their pictures and allow other regular users to rate them on their resemblance to a celebrity. Site was mentioned on BBC and CNN sites of the day.
• BestRingtones.com (2001 till 2007)
  This is one amazing domain name that I was very happy with. I sold it for a few thousand dollars to someone interested
