It’s 30th March 2011 and there is a war between Pakistan and India.

No, it’s not that “war”, but the way things are coming to surface in both countries it seems that the hearts of Pakistanis and Indians will just jump out of their bodies in the urge to win the semi-final. Who cares about the final match when the semi-final is between Pakistan and India?

The tension is at the peak, the blood is pumping, various places all over the world like sports-bars, hotels, restaurants are going out of their way to show the match to their customers.

All in all, this sport which is very close to the hearts of many Pakistanis and Indians, is probably the only positive thing that both can enjoy. It’s that sport which they both love to love and everything in their life stands still when both countries meet in the stadium.

Looking at the smiles and laughter on the faces of people awaiting the game, all I wonder is.. “Can Cricket bring us closer?”

And the answers is, “Yes, it can”.

At a time when the sub-continent is being ripped apart by forces that don’ t want peace to prevail there, a game like cricket has managed to bring the smiles on the faces of those that have been living in fear for years now.

I often wonder if the cricket players can somewhat call on for a rally to bring about a change in the government, atleast in Pakistan that is. I am sure everyone will meet up. If a politician does it, things don’t work out that well but maybe someone from the team should take this charge.

And yah, before I forget.

“May the best team win!”

Libya Issue
Lots of coalition forces are still wondering who will take charge after Libya is totally “destroyed” by the attacks. A recent radio interview with a few experts was quite a learning experience for me at least. They kept on focusing on the fact that USA and other forces attacking Libya is something all Arab countries should learn from. Meaning in the sense that if they can do it to Libya, you guys can be next. I am not going on the wrong path if I say that the reason USA is behind all this has lots to do with what Libya has to offer.. oil! And no, I am not blinded with the “hate for the west”, I live in the west so got nothing to hate. The policies that USA and other countries follow are not so “friendly”. If civilian deaths are such a big issue for USA and they can’t take it, I would love to see them stop their attacks on Pakistani borders killing Civilians every single day. Double standards at the highest level! What about the attacks by Israel on Gaza?

Japan is back on track!
I was amazed to see how fast Japan has rebuilt some of the damaged areas that got affected by the tsunami. See the picture on this news article, it‘s enough to make one wonder what a wonderfully organized group of people Japanese are. Way to go guys, you put to shame some roads I have seen in Norway that remind me of tiny off roads in Pakistan, actually even Pakistan has some better roads that I have seen in Norway. I wish the govt. the money they rip us drivers for via road tax, and other means.

Gene Simmons loves Israel
Gene Simmons from Kiss group said there is no better place than Israel on this earth, well what can one say..everyone wants a peaceful home, I doubt anyone wants war all around them. But when incidents happen which kill whole set of family members, I doubt anyone can have love for a place then. I use lots of internet technologies that are made by companies in Israel, feel no shame about that, only things I DON’T promote are those that are documented to fund the war or those places in Gaza that have made life hell for Palestinians. A bomb went off in Israel killing 1 and injuring 30, I hope and pray such attacks stop on both sides, and they won’t stop until those with guns keep shooting those with stones..

FRP – Showing the true colors?
I am someone who looks for the positive things in people, but when I see something that’s not right I speak out. In the case of FRP, a party in Norway that usually has an agenda to make Immigrants look like fools on any occasion recently had one of their party members in the limelight  due to the fact that he filmed a boy while he was showering at his place. This boy filed a complaint a few days ago that this happened few months back and he did notice a tiny cam in the ceiling but didn’t think much of it until he really found out what’s going on.

I find this very disturbing. I hope this Trond Birkedal guy is kicked off the party, but then again.. one can’t expect so much from FRP who knew that he has been involved in such similar cases before.

Siv Jensen is the first one to attack minorities and judging their character and so on, I doubt this type of character that Trond has shown should make her proud!

Soldier gets 24 years in jail
An American soldier,Jeremy Morlock. gets 24 years in jail for awful war crimes in Afghanistan, where he and his other friends cut off fingers of victims they killed, and posed with their dead bodies as if they were some trophies. Good on you kid, you deserve the sentence and probably lots more than this. First you go and kill innocent people on the order of a nutcase called Bush who can’t even talk properly let alone lead a whole nation, and second you go into a country and destroy it for Osama Bin Laden, who was all funded by the US.. not fair is it.

What’s up in Pakistan
Another suicide bomber killed 5 and injured 25 people. This is so sick. Day in day out those nutcases who call themselves Muslim destroy the peace of a country which is already suffering the wrath of pathetic leaders that eat up all cash that they get. I hope and pray things are better for Pakistan soon, since they deserve it now. Too much tension, no work, no food, no water and no electricity is not a promising future.

But hey, Pakistan beat West Indies with 10 wickets in Cricket, and hopefully that will be a plaster on the wounds of people that are going through hell right now.

This is an URDU poem I wrote. Highlighting the fact that we Pakistanis really need to put our act together and do what we say in order to save our lovely country from the evil powers within our country that are eating it up.

Love you Pakistan! Because without you, I am just a citizen of this world, and with you I have an identity!

Na hei himmat tujh mein, kuch bhi karne ki
Bass lafzon se hi tu to karta sab waar hei

Karta buraai hei jab bhi, koi mauqa mile
Aur phir kehta hei ke watan se pyar hei?

Na hei haya baqi aur koi rahi sharam nahi?
Kya rab ka tujh pe koi kam ye karam nahi?

I found something very amusing in the recent statement made by Obama.

“We will not tolerate any attacks on civilians”

We don’t have to go that far to see the double standard in that statement. Obama is that one president who after coming to power in the US started a chain of drone attacks on the borders in Pakistan. And ironically the majority of those that die in the attacks EVERY single day are civilians like you and I. Civilians who just have the bad luck of belonging to a country which is ruled by people who get annual funds of billions from the US.

According to the stats on wikipedia around 2,242 people max have been killed in the drone attacks since 2004 (it’s a lot more that didn’t make it to the list). And to believe that USA is so accurate in only targetting the so called “Taliban – Who they invented” is bit far fetched. I have in the past few years kept my eye on the casualties that resulted due to the attacks by US on civilians in Pakistan and elsewhere. Isn’t USA the country which waged a war on Iraq, Afghanistan and is funding countries that kill civilians in Palestine?

As far as I can remember, each life is precious no matter religion or race. And when Obama makes such statements, it makes me wonder what was the reason that made me say on my radio programs that “Obama is definitely going to change things for the better”.. maybe it was because ANYONE could have been better than George W.Bush.

Drone attacks on Pakistan still continue as we speak, and while we are enjoying our daily routine someone on the borders of Pakistan is dying an undeserved death by an American drone!

Every single day we see something happening somewhere around the world. Obviously if it didn’t happen then we wouldn’t be able to associate things with it that we are going through and feel thankful to God for what we have.

In Pakistan at this moment millions of people are on the roads due to some sickos who in the name of my religion, Islam, have hijacked it big time and made it into something of their own thing. Islam teaches tolerance, and the right it gives to women to study and flexibility our Prophet PBUH showed in his times is NO where to be seen by the dumbos who represent Islam now.

Millions of people are away from their homes and living in open fields, little kids who have no idea what their fault is and sadly God knows how many different agencies are involved in this whole thing which is trying to deface Pakistan to bring it on its knees.

I just hope the people who lost their homes get back to their places soon so they can get back to their lives rather than being victims of this hell which they had nothing to do with in the first place.
