5 Steps to staying positive

5

Staying positive is a skill that can be developed and below are five steps to staying positive (ofcourse there can be more)

  1. Take a deep breath when a situation tries to detrack you
  2. Ignore any negative message sent your way, just grab the constructive part of it
  3. Talk to a friend who has a positive mindset
  4. Accept that making mistakes is a natural thing that everyone does
  5. Don't HATE people, you can definitly dislike their way of thinking but hating them wouldn't do you any good

  • A positive attitude may inlife and ur firend where u go my anwer to posting and lovlytime goobleeing

  • I often tell my youngest son when he stresses out, to take a deap breath & let it out very slowly. Suprisingly this does wonders.

Get around positive people & if that is not possible read some positive quotes (There is a good collection at http://greatsuccessideas.com/Success-Quotes.html)

Consider reading books like: The Power of Positive Thinking By Normal Vincent Peale, or Listen to The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale.

And finally, always remember that well known saying…. "This to shall pass!".

    Keep up the great work.

    To Your Success,

  • Hi Wakas,

Staying positive is helpful and your 5 steps are good even if especially step number 2 is not always applicable.

The reason is that there may be nothing at all constructive in some negative messages.

And ignoring them may lead to a serious situation.

This is why being positive overall is good but there are situations where immediate action is required and there may be no time to take a deep breath or to make sure that we view a situation positively.

  • I feel sometimes it actually become very necessary to 'ignore' the negative message. Responding to something negative might lead to somethin serious, f.eks a negative thought, N when it comes to negativety, one single thought is enough. But then again everyone have their own prespective on the situation N all. :-)

  • Oh yes Rob.. breathing properly does help but I guess sometimes that’s the first thing people forget.. :) thx for stopping by

  • these are helpful tips ,but fact is that we hardly apply them . we just go what we think what is right in aparticular situation and it is human nature that dislikes all thats against him

  • Hi Nabeel. thx for commenting and yes applying such things is tough but one has to do them to stay sane.
