3 reasons you shouldn’t be an entrepreneur

There are always the right and wrong reasons for everything. An honest intention as to why we do what we do, counts a lot and defines what the outcome of our decision will be. When it comes to being financially independent, well who doesn’t want that. Everyone in one form or another, wishes to be presented opportunities that make them get away from the everyday routine work and decide for themselves making them their own boss.

No matter how much you want to achieve as an entrepreneur, there will always be some wrong reasons behind it. And below is just a list of things according to my understanding and hands-on experience running and managing some big online shops and offline distribution channels.

  1. You want to be your own boss
As mentioned above, who doesn’t want to be their own boss. But remember, being your own boss carries lots of responsibilities. You must be willing to co-operate with others on a larger scale, and in most cases be even more cautious and patient. Since when being an employee you might just have to deal with colleagues and your boss, but being your own boss would require a lot more interaction with dozens, sometimes hundreds of various personalities.
  2. Everyone else is doing it
You will never make it, if that’s what you are thinking. Just getting into programming because Bill Gates and Steve Jobs did what they did, isn’t a good start. You have to get into something, ONLY if you love doing it and really feel that you can manage it well.
  3. You want to make lots of money
Who doesn’t? But remember that being an entrepreneur means numerous hours, weeks, months that you might not even make a single penny. If you think you can manage to survive on almost nothing during the times when you aren’t selling your services or products, be my guest. But please make sure you are aware that things can go wrong, and not everyone can make lots of money. First start respecting the whole concept of earning money, it’s not about how much you make, since when you make a million you will want to earn 2 million and so on. If you are content with what you have now, you will be content with just a little bit more.
