If Gaza Had Blue Eyes, Would the Bombs Still Fall?

I’ll just say what most people are scared to say.

The entire Western world found a conscience when Russia invaded Ukraine. Sanctions were imposed more quickly than rain. They frozen bank accounts. Billionaires are prohibited. Each nation competed to show its support. Everywhere there were blue and yellow flags, even your Spotify feed became a protest.

The message was unambiguous: it is unacceptable to invade another nation.

However, not only do they not impose sanctions on Israel, they also send more weapons when Israel bombs Gaza, destroying homes, blowing up hospitals, and destroying entire families. They give it a clap. They refer to it as self-defense.

Now, where is the outrage? Where is the international solidarity for justice?

Not at all, because their child does not resemble the one in Gaza.

“These are civilized people,” they remark upon seeing Ukraine.
However, when they see Gaza, they see resistance, headscarves, Arab names, and brown skin. Human rights are abruptly disregarded. Suddenly, since they are our children, it is acceptable for them to be buried beneath debris.

Let’s not act as though race isn’t a factor here. or faith. or strength. This is white supremacy grinning in front of the UN while sporting a suit and tie.

For more than 75 years, Israel has broken international law. stolen territory. imposed apartheid. humiliated and persecuted a whole population. However, the West continues to reward them because, to them, Muslims have always been expendable. It has long been believed that the Middle East is a place that should burn.

Within days, they imposed sanctions on Russia. But for Israeli war crimes spanning decades? They award medals.

On false pretenses, they bombed Iraq. destroyed Libya under the pretext of “freedom.” left Afghanistan in ruins. And now, with their hands full of our blood and their chests out, they stand up for Israel.

You retaliate? You’re a terrorist. Your family is killed by them? They are protecting democracy.

It’s systemic bigotry, not just hypocrisy.

The most terrifying aspect? Everything has become commonplace.

A Palestinian child dying on camera is just another post in our day and age. The debris is recognizable. They ignore the screams. It’s simply “another flare-up.” a popular subject. Then it was gone.

However, it’s more than just a post for those of us who care, for those of us who are collecting money, sending heartfelt messages, and holding the names of martyrs close to our hearts. It hurts. It’s intimate.

I oversee a group that raises money for the forgotten, the widowed, and the injured. Additionally, each time we publish, we implore readers to see the humanity behind the headlines and to see past the world leaders’ silence.

And to my siblings, please don’t allow them to deceive you.

Don’t allow them to persuade you that supporting Palestine is hateful. It is extremism to demand justice. that in order to be “tolerant,” we should simply remain silent.

No.

Talk, Share, and Give. Increase awareness. Raise your children clearly. Even if your voice trembles, raise it.

Because the world would have dispatched peacekeepers in a day if Gaza had been populated by blue-eyed Christians. However, we receive bombs and vetoes because it is full of Muslims who are standing up for their dignity.

Allah, however, sees. History will, too.

We will remember. The silence will not be forgiven. We will continue to remind the world that truth is right even if it isn’t trendy.

May Allah keep the Palestinian people safe. May He bring shame to the oppressors and justice to the oppressed. And may He employ us as instruments in that triumph—our platforms, our money, and our words.
